That said, e-invoicing joins the list of other electronic services available on the Department’s website. Which include submitting tax declarations, updating personal data, obtaining tax clearance certificates, and other services that no longer require a personal visit to the Department for completion.
Accordingly, the steps to create a tax number for individuals include:
1. Access the Income and Sales Tax Department homepage and click on “show all”.
2. You’ll be redirected to the “Department Services” page, click on “Electronic Gate”
3. The Electronic Portal Services page will show, scroll down the page.
4. Choose “Electronic Registration” from the “click here” button.
5. The following account set-up page will show.
6. Fill out the information as required in the fields.
7. For non-Jordanians, options will be shown below.
8. After filling out information for non-Jordanians as required, click “inquire”.
9. After that, you’ll log in to the account to proceed with uploading the required documents and attachments electronically.
Some Key Required Documents:
– Commercial Registration Certificate (normal copy) to be uploaded to the system.

13. After entering your tax number in the username field, set a password of your choice and log in to your account.

15. Go to the Personal Data option through the account and verify that the taxpayer type is “Individuals” and not “Users,” as “Users” is for registered employees.

16. To change the taxpayer type from users to individuals, go to the “Internal Services” option, then “Submit an Internal Service Request.”

19. Then write “I would like to convert my profile from users to individuals” in the comments and send the request.
20. To follow up on the request, go to internal services and “follow up on sent internal requests.”
